OUR HISTORY

Vision Football Club is dedicated to nurturing young football talent and advancing the sport of football in Rwanda

VFC has a well-established youth academy, offering training to young players at various levels. The club’s structure includes a senior team with 30 players, an Under-20 youth team with 25 players, and an academy team (Under-17) comprising 30 players. This commitment to grassroots development has helped Vision FC win numerous academy tournament trophies.

Vision FC’s influence extends beyond youth training, having produced players for the Rwanda National Team (Amavubi). Moreover, the club has seen some of its talents transition to international football, including:

  • Lague Byiringiro (Sandvikens IF Football Club, Sweden)
  • Olivier Kwizera (Al-Kawkab FC, Saudi Arabia; former player of Free State Stars FC, South Africa)
  • Abdoul Rwatubyaye (FC Shkupi, Macedonia; previously with Colorado Rapids FC and Kansas City FC, USA)

The club’s players are well-represented in the Rwanda Premier League, playing for top teams such as Kiyovu SC, Gasogi United, Police FC, and Rayon Sports. Some notable players include Gakuru Matata (Kiyovu SC), Mossi Rurangwa (Police FC), and Felix Bavakure (Rayon Sports).

After competing in the second division for 12 years, Vision FC achieved a significant milestone during the 2023-2024 football season by securing promotion to the Rwanda Premier League. This advancement brought VFC to the forefront of Rwandan football, competing in the most prestigious league, which is broadcast on national television, further solidifying the club’s reputation in Rwanda’s sports landscape.

Vision FC’s journey showcases its dedication to fostering football talent and contributing to the development of the sport in Rwanda, from grassroots to professional levels.
